A live transfer is a phone call where the person who qualified the lead stays on the line and connects them directly to the person who will close. The lead never hangs up, never waits for a callback, and never repeats themselves. In RevStrike the person doing the qualifying is an AI voice agent, and the handoff is a warm transfer with a whisper and a press-1 accept.
How does an AI live transfer work?
1. The agent calls within seconds. A lead fills out your form or arrives from a vendor feed. The agent dials in about 10 seconds, inside the lead's local calling window. See speed to lead.
2. It qualifies on your criteria. Homeownership and bill for solar. Coverage, carrier and renewal for insurance. Plan and add-on fit for pest control. The same questions, every call.
3. It transfers at the first buying signal. The moment the lead qualifies and shows intent, the agent tells the lead it is connecting them and dials your rep. In pest control, that is the first yes on an add-on offer.
4. Your rep hears a whisper. Before the two are joined, your rep hears a short private summary: who is on the line, what they asked about, what they said. The lead does not hear it.
5. The rep presses 1 to accept. One keypress bridges the call. If your rep is in the car or on another call, they do not press 1, and the lead is never dropped into silence.
6. If no rep answers, the agent books instead. The agent stays with the lead and books the next step on your Google Calendar or Outlook: a site visit, a call with a licensed agent, or a callback window with the area manager.
7. Everything is written back. Recording, transcript and outcome, in your dashboard and sent to your CRM through Zapier or a webhook.
What happens if my rep does not pick up?
This is the question that separates a real live-transfer product from a demo. In RevStrike the fallback is part of the same call.
The agent has already qualified the lead and has the lead's attention. If the rep does not press 1, the agent books a time instead. For solar, the site visit on the closer's calendar. For insurance, a call on the licensed agent's calendar. For pest control, a callback window with the rep or area manager.
The lead hears one conversation with one voice, not a transfer attempt, hold music and a voicemail. The outcome is logged as a booked meeting, not a failed transfer.
You can hear the booked-callback path on a real call: in the Greenix recording, the customer declines the transfer because she is in the grocery store, and Emma books a Tuesday-afternoon callback with the area manager instead.
Why does live transfer beat a booked slot for solar and insurance?
A booked appointment is good. A live transfer is better when the lead is shopping and when intent is highest right now.
Insurance leads are shared. Internet leads from EverQuote, SmartFinancial, QuoteWizard and MediaAlpha reach several agencies within minutes. A booked call for tomorrow gives the others a day to call first. A live transfer puts your licensed agent on the line while the shopper is still deciding. The AI never quotes, rates, binds or advises. Insurance playbook
Solar intent peaks at the form. A homeowner who just typed in their bill and address is as interested as they will ever be. A live transfer lets your rep confirm the fit and set the site visit in the same breath. Solar playbook
Pest control add-ons sell on the yes. When an existing customer says yes to a group-rate rodent offer, the area manager should be on the line before the customer gets distracted. Pest control playbook
Booked slots have no-shows. Live transfers do not.
What do live transfers look like for your reps?
Your reps stop cold-dialing callbacks and start answering warm calls. Each arrives with a whisper, so the rep knows the lead's name and what they want before saying hello, and the press-1 accept means a rep is never surprised mid-task. Transfers go to the rep or area manager you set for that agent.
Is AI live transfer compliant?
The transfer continues a call the lead consented to, on a number the lead gave you. The same controls cover the whole call: do-not-call check before dialing, local-time calling windows, the AI disclosure setting (it never claims to be human), an optional recording notice at the top, and recording, transcription and logging of the whole call including the transfer. Where written consent for AI-voice calls is required, we tell you before launch. See the trust page and TCPA and AI calling.
